8th WVI - Galway- 24-25th June 2010

David and Peter will be attending the 8th WVI in Galway. Peter is doing a talk titled 'the harnessing of spiral laminar flow been advantageous in clinical practice and what are the latest innovative developments in this area?'. The talk will take place on the 24th of June at 15:42. All attending the WVI conference are welcome.

VASA - Las Vegas- 12-14th May 2010

With a podium presentation, an invitation only event and a well positioned booth exhibit, Tayside Flow Technologies had a very successful showing of the Spiral Flow&trade: Vascular Access Graft at the Vascular Access Society of the America (VASA) XII Annual Vascular Access for Hemodialysis Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Four Seasons Hotel was the host site as well over 300 Vascular Access professionals convened to hear the latest information. TFT can celebrate successes on several levels at this meeting.

The exhibit booth traffic was brisk all meeting. It was spurred on by comments made from the podium by Alan Lumsden, MD, The Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas that described the Spiral Flow™ Graft as an emerging new technology that is likely to have an impact on reducing intimal hyperplasia. Dr. Lumsden's comments came in the second presentation of the meeting!

TFT's invitation only event was very well attended also. The event featured two unique presentations. The first was an ongoing presentation by TFT Founder Professor Graeme Houston titled "Importance of spiral laminar flow in disease and improving vascular graft patency." The second was a rare single malt Scotch whisky tasting. TFT CEO David Lawrence served as Taste Master and presented the rare fare to several VASA Members that included VASA Board of Directors Jack Work, MD, Atlanta, Georgia and Larry Scher, New York, New York.

Your pre-meeting invitations to customers paid off handsomely as several came by to meet Professor Houston. Having a physician peer at these meetings gives TFT a great deal of credibility with the attendees and offers the sales staff present an excellent opportunity to advance their knowledge.

Professor Houston later presented the abstract on the new Spiral Flow&trade: Graft; "Hemodynamic effects of spiral ePTFE prosthesis compared to standard arteriovenous graft in a carotid to jugular vein porcine model." The abstract has been published in the Journal of Vascular Access, the official journal of the Vascular Access Society of the Americas.

Finally, TFT thanks these US Distributors for attending the meeting and assisting with ongoing sales and marketing effort for Spiral Flow™ products; State of the Art Medical; MedSurg Specialty Devices/PSI; and Surgical Equipment Resources.

Charing Cross - London -10-13th April 2010

David, Peter and Richard attended the 32rd International Symposium in London where clinicians showed significant interest in the new Spiral Laminar Flow AV Access graft. The graft was launched to the TFT European distributors who indicated that each of their markets were very keen to try the new product where the performance of current synthetic AV Access grafts has not been favourable. The Spiral Laminar Flow AV Access graft incorporates the neo-intimal hyperplasia reducing flow conditioning technology previously proven in the Spiral Laminar Flow Peripheral bypass graft leading to an increase in patency rates for patients.

Prof Peter Stonebridge presented the 24month patency rates of the Spiral Laminar Flow Peripheral bypass graft- 78% Primary & 83% secondary patencies in above knee cases & 67% primary and 67% secondary patencies in below knee cases. Prof Stonebridge also presented the new Spiral Laminar Flow AV Access graft highlighting the development work that has taken place to validate the performance of the graft.

Overall it was a successful weekend.
